Cucumber Lavender Gimlet

Gimlet inspired served over ice and topped with sparkling wine with a hint of lavender.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumber wheels
  • 3 basil leaves, torn
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime
  • 1 1/2 ounces Wonderbird Spirits Gin
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup (1:1)
  • 3 dashes Scrappy's lavender bitters
  • Cava to top
  • Cucumber wheel and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

In the bottom of a shaker, add cucumber, basil and lime. Gently muddle. Add gin, simple syrup and lavender bitters. Shake. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with Cava.

Garnish with a cucumber wheel, dried lavender and spanked basil leaf.

No lavender bitters? Make a lavender simple syrup.

Build it option: In the bottom of a rocks glass, muddle cucumber, basil, lime and simple syrup. Top with ice. Add gin and top with Cava. Gently stir and garnish.

This cocktail is aka the Cole and the Gang Gimlet, custom created for a Milk Punch Media event honoring Chef Cole Ellis at Delta Meat Market in downtown Cleveland, Mississippi.
