Strain over ice in a rocks glass.
Spiced Blackberry Shrub
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup apple cider vinegar
Combine sugar and blackberries along with ground cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg and star anise, to taste. Allow to naturally macerate overnight, unrefrigerated.
The following day, add apple cider vinegar. Allow it to stand overnight. Pour mixture through a chinois to allow liquid to separate from seeds. Discard solids.
