Jalapeño Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar or Swerve sweetener
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 jalapeño sliced lengthwise, seeded and chopped

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar and bring to a simmer, stirring until dissolved. Do not allow to boil. Add jalapeños and simmer about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow to steep and cool. Strain and discard peppers. Transfer to a jar or squirt bottle and keep chilled. Will keep 1 to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
