Paloma

Move over, margarita, La Paloma (Spanish for “dove”) is Mexico’s first-love cocktail. Keep it classic with top shelf tequila or kick up the heat with smoky mezcal.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila (100% agave) or mezcal
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Grapefruit soda to top
  • Pinch of salt
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

In a highball filled with ice, add mezcal and lime juice and top with grapefruit soda. Stir gently. Add a pinch of salt and garnish with a lime wheel.
