Wild Thoughts

Bright, herbaceous and bubbly, this charming cocktail is what brunch dreams are made of at Willa Jean in the South Market District in New Orleans.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces Cathead Vodka
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 ounce lavender-sage syrup*
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon
  • 1/2 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  • Prosecco to top

Instructions

Combine vodka, egg white, lavender-sage syrup and lemon. Dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Strain into a wine glass and top with Prosecco. Garnish with a sage leaf.

*If you don’t have sage, simply omit or use fresh basil.

Lavender Syrup: Combine 1 cup sugar or Swerve, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon dried lavender and 2 torn sage or basil leaves over medium heat. Do not allow to boil. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to steep and cool for about 20 minutes. Strain and store in a glass bottle. Keep chilled for up 2 weeks.
