Adult Halloween is all about the BOOze.
What to serve and sip?
Keep it simple with seasonal classic cocktails with a ghostly history or think dark, smoky flavors.
5 Hall0ween cocktails to make this year:
- 1Corpse Reviver No. 2
Oh, hell yes! One of your brunchtime favorites screams Halloween, of course. It’s a seasonal classic.
Absinthe to coat glass
3/4 ounce London Dry Gin
3/4 ounce Lillet Blanc
3/4 ounce Cointreau
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juiceRinse (swirl) a chilled coupe with absinthe and discard. You can also mist the inside of the glass with absinthe in a spray bottle.
Add ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into coupe.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
- 2Death in the Afternoon
The easiest way to hack a Halloween cocktail in a hurry: add absinthe to your bubbles! We prefer just a splash… You can thank the ghost of Ernest Hemingway.
1/2 ounce absinthe
Chilled ChampagnePour absinthe in coupe or flute and top with bubbles.
- 3Bloody Maria
Swap out vodka for tequila in your Bloody Mary and voila! Bloody Maria.
2 ounces tequila
Bloody Mary mix
Stuffed olives as eyeball garnishes
See Badass Bloody Marys for batch recipe and tips.
- 4Mezcal Margarita
Take your favorite margarita and swap 1/2 of the tequila for smoky mezcal. We prefer a Tommy’s Margarita:
1 ounce blanco tequila
1 ounce mezcal
1/2 ounce agave nectar
1 ounce fresh lime juice
Tajin seasoning for rimRun one edge of glass with a lime wedge. Dip in Tajin seasoning to coat.
Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into coupe or rocks glass.
- 5Bloody Sangria
2 bottles Pinot Noir
1 cup apple brandy
1 cup Blood Orange Liqueur
2 cups pomegranate juice
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Orange slices and rosemary for garnishCombine wine, brandy, liqueur, juice and vanilla and chill. To serve, transfer to a pitcher or punch bowl.
Garnish with rosemary leaves and orange slices.
Serve in wine glasses over ice topped with a splash of club soda, sparkling wine or ginger beer.
If you love mezcal, try Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice in “Voodoo Apothecary” from Jenny Adams for a 3-ingredient cocktail.
